MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
GIRO SNOW

Linda Rodney, North American Sales Manager

     Q1

Why did GIRO decide to join NSSRA and what do you hope to gain from your membership?

A. We are really excited to be a member of NSSRA and support our retailer customers. Giro believes it is the specialty snow retailers that build a brand, and our partnerships as supplier/dealer are key to the success of the snow sports industry. As business models change and retail continues to evolve, we need to work together as supplier/dealer partners.

I look forward to being able to brainstorm with retailers on how we can better support the specialty snow sport business and continue to see it flourish.

      Q2

Business models have evolved significantly in the past few years. How has GIRO responded to this evolution?

A: Like most suppliers, our website is important to provide product knowledge, market new products, build brand recognition, and support industry programs. Everyone is moving to omnichannel platforms where we meet the consumer where they want to engage. We also want to drive consumers to your websites and stores. Giro values our retailer partners! The brick-and mortar retailers, and the phenomenal staff in these stores, build our brand.

           Q3

What else would GIRO like NSSRA members to know?

A: All of us in the snow sports industry are lucky that we sell fun. We aren't selling trash-can lids or cat litter. Our customers want to engage with us. Our biggest challenge with social media is time. We all wish we had more of it, but we need to remember that those few minutes we spend creating a social media post is time that is well-invested. If you are just beginning the process of developing an online presence the best advice I could give is to seek help, advice and guidance from someone who knows more than you do. Most of us have kids, employees, friends, etc., who are masters at their own social media and who know how to take good pictures, write good posts, and how to be engaging. If you aren't the creative type, seek help.
